How to give gifts without confusing equipment and consumables

The short answer

In ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet, Game8 locates gifts under the Action menu and distinguishes two important item types: equipment can be moved between characters, while food-type upgrade gifts are consumed for a permanent benefit. Choose the recipient after checking the item's type and purpose. If the goal is a fan condition, follow that customer's specified gift rather than assuming any present will satisfy it.

This page explains giving and choosing gifts. It does not provide every gift's location, a complete sword collection or a way to recover a food upgrade after it has been spent.

Use equipment as a transferable assignment

Game8 describes equipment gifts as non-consumable items that can be moved to another character. This makes recipient choice different from spending a food-type upgrade: you can revise an equipment assignment later.

Inspect the displayed effect before equipping it. The source discusses movement speed and eating amount, but this guide does not supply an item-by-item ranking or prove a fixed income gain from a particular combination. Check the character and task you are improving.

Choose food-upgrade recipients before using the item

The documented food-type upgrade is spent when given and grants a permanent benefit. It does not remain a transferable piece of equipment. If you have not decided which characters you intend to keep using, waiting is a reasonable choice rather than treating the item as freely reusable.

Keep the gift item separate from the restaurant's sale offering. Game8's affinity guide says gifting the one-time food gift does not remove the corresponding dish from the set-menu offering. A consumed gift and an unlearned cooking recipe are different things.

If the expected result does not appear

  • Fan condition unchanged: compare the required gift and customer with what was actually given; not every gift is a fan-condition reward.
  • Equipment is on the wrong character: inspect the equipment assignment rather than look for a food-consumable refund.
  • A food upgrade has already been spent: no recovery or transfer method is established by these sources.
  • The menu or effect differs: keep the item name, edition and version with the question instead of applying an instruction for another item type.

✓ How to check the result

The intended character shows the equipment or permanent upgrade, or the specified fan condition is completed. Check the particular outcome you chose before giving another item.
