Building · Franky requests / expansion conditions
How to expand the ship when you need more building space
The short answer
In ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet, ship expansion follows Franky's restaurant-expansion request after he joins. Game8's Japanese guide describes paying the displayed berries and satisfying the specified customer requirement, then clearing rubbish around the ship. Nami's bargaining option can halve the berry fee once per in-game day. If the request stops appearing in the same sea, further sea progression may be needed.
Use this route when the ship is too small or the next expansion seems unavailable. It is separate from finding a Dock placement hotspot, crafting furniture or simply moving existing tables.

Read Franky's expansion conditions before confirming
- Recruit Franky and inspect his available requests for the one about making the restaurant larger. The Japanese source calls it 店を広くしたいようです; the wording is provided to identify the request, not as an official English label.
- Read the required customers and berry cost on the actual expansion screen. The people requirement refers to the specified characters becoming customers; an arbitrary count of hired workers or Straw Hats does not replace it.
- Complete any missing named-customer condition, or earn the missing berries, before returning to this request.
- At the rubbish-clearance confirmation, inspect Nami's bargaining option if it is available. Check the resulting fee before confirming the expansion.
- Confirm the operation and inspect the newly usable tiles. Plan the next placement around the space actually opened in your save.
Keep the daily discount with the purchase you intend to make
Game8 documents Nami's discount at the expansion confirmation and limits its use to once per in-game day. Compare the displayed charge with your available berries before spending. A discount that has already been used that day should not be treated as a missing expansion requirement.
The source's later expansion-cost rows are incomplete or estimated. This guide does not copy that table or invent a final ship-size cap; the current confirmation is the useful cost for the expansion you are buying.
Separate a missing request from a blocked payment
- Request visible, customer condition incomplete: follow the named characters shown there rather than recruiting unrelated staff.
- Request visible, berries short: use actual sales and the available discount; cumulative Sales is not the spendable berry balance.
- No further request in the same sea: Game8 says expansion can be limited by sea progression. Continue the current sea's objectives rather than assume the save is broken.
- New space looks like outdoor deck: expansion initially adds deck space. Add flooring if the intended use is an indoor area; expansion alone does not furnish it.
✓ How to check the result
Previously blocked tiles around the ship become usable construction space. Check that result separately from the request notification, the discount or the furniture you plan to place next.
